Robert Anderson Director of Technology Transfer and Intellectual Property, Illinois Institute of Technology came to IIT after 38 years of experience at UOP LLC, a technology and licensing company for oil refineries and petrochemical companies. At UOP, he worked in a number of positions related to business and engineering, a combination fostered by his degree earned at IIT and his master's degree in management earned from Northwestern University in 1984. His responsibilities at UOP included leadership positions in R&D, manufacturing, licensing, and general management. He most recently served as Vice President of Marketing, a position that he held from 1996 through 2000. Mr. Anderson has had a long relationship with Illinois Institute of Technology. Since graduating from IIT in 1962 with a B.S. in chemical engineering, he has been a generous donor of both time and of funds to IIT. For the last eight years, he has been active on the Chemical and Environmental Engineering Advisory Board and currently serves as its Chair. He is a member of IIT's President's Council and has been awarded both the IIT Distinguished Alumnus Award (1997) and the Alumni Award of Merit (1999). Mr. Anderson has been on the NuVant board of directors since 2002.
